I as it was last j ear. Tfcii is perhaps due to the fact
'that the show business fcas beea overworked ia this
I Miction and that country peop!e are pushing the work
cf cotton picking. The street fair idea has procac!y

Loom in a cemetery has the following in the last
issue of his paper and it is good food for Chickasha
conun:;.tion:
The new railroad the Oklahoma Central L
now building this way as rapidly as men and monev
can push it and will be here inside of six months.
B11 'jte don't have to sit down and waiton its coming.
We fhonld get busy right now so as to be irj shape
to tako full advantage of the opportunities a new road
offers. What shall we do? That's for the people to
pay. We should counsel together and find out what
we can take nold of that would be of benefit then go
after it. The time is ripe for the final dilution
of the "Can't Ho It Club." Let's have a "Will Do
It Club" in its stead. Earnest energy properly
directed does all things; lethargic apathy waiting
Mk.awber-like for something to turn up does nothing.
The "Can't Do Its" were literal with predictions that
the Oklahoma Central would never pass the 'hot air"
atajre -bnt you see that it has. The same persistent
endeavor a ill bring aboui other things that may seem '
at first glance imjossible. We must wake up. I

A lively dispute over the sex of angles is raging
frown down the idea that there is any of the feminine
gender. Whatever may be the case in heaven and
nobody seems to have any definite information on tee
point it is quite certain lhat all the angels on earth
are girls and women. A male angel down below
here is unthinkable. Exchange.
000
Now that the carnival is over we'll turn our
attention to more serious affairs. There's tbeRuggle's
Co. proposition which is before the commercial club
and the carriage factory proposition of Mr. Newa-
check both of which are of great importance and de-
mand prompt action. It's time to take up Mayor
Venable.s suggestion on street improvements. Plenty
for everybody to do.
000
Chjckasaa deserves credit for its street show.
At its close will be exhibited the products of the
surrounding country. Towns must do things of
this kind or else fall into a rut that leads them to a
cemetery. Among other improvements we noticed a
ten-thousand dollar Methodist church Rush Springs
Landmark.
