MR. TINSMAN S PROMOTION
The people of Chickasha receive with the
keenest pleasure the news of the promotion of Mr
W. S. Tinsman to the position of general superin
tendent of the Choctaw division of the Rock Island
system. Ia railroad circles and among the people
generally all of whom are generally interested in the
career of a former honored citizen of Chickasha the
greatest gratification is expressed over the honor
bestowed upon Mr. Tinsman.
During his stay in Chickasha as superintendent
cf the Oklahoma division of the Rock Island Mr
Tinsman won the highest opinion and the warmest
friendship of tne men under him as well as an en
during place iti the hearts of Chickasha people as a
nan of steruug worth and a loyal public spirited
citizen. He has always been a staunch triend of
C-T.CKasha and his faith m the town was .shown in a
substantia! way.
The promotion of Mr. Tinsman Ls a well-merited
recognition of ha worth. It Ls another step in the
Series that has marked the career of this remarkable
man. Beginning with the humblest position in the
service of the Rock Island company his ri.se has been
steady and rapid and it is altogetner likely that before
many years Mr. Tinsman will occupy a still higher
position among the captains of railroad industry!
He is but thirty-eight years of age and his vigorous
power and remarkable abilities give promise of a
Still brighter career.
V hen Mr. Tinsman left Chickasha lie became
superintendent at Trenton. Mo. in charge of one of
the most important divisions of the road. In his new-
position he succeeds Mr. K. O. Melcher taking charge
of the entire Choctaw district of which the Oklahoma
division is a part. His headquarters will be at
Little Rock and we may ex sect to see more of him.
Chickasha Congratulates Mr. Tinsman most
heartily upon his promotion and trusts that it may
be the forerunner of still greater honors in store for
him.
The attendance was not as large as it should
have been but the faithful were there Gilkey Say-
er Johnson Dwyer Johns Browne Leech Dawson.
Fechheimer Jones and a score of other earnest work-
ers. It was one of the best crowds of representative
citizens that has ever met in Chickasha and everyone
meant business.
CcsorattlatioXs To J. S. Browne the new
president cf the centner cia! club. It is doubtful if a
tetter selection could have teen made. Mr. Browne
5 one cf our foremost business men. He has been
c-ne of the most active workers in the club and has
earned the honor bestowed cpon him. L"pon every
occasion that has arisen he has stood up for Chicka-
sha and has done his part nobly. Whenever there is
anything to be done for the welfare of the city he
can always be called cpon and is never found lacking
in zeal or service. He is a man who has made his
own way and has risen to an enviable position in the
business world- He will be a success as president of
the club. J
1
Of course H. B. Johnson will take care of the
money all right. Mr. Johnson was strongly nrged
for president and only his refusal to accept it pre-
vented him from being placed in the position. Mr.
Johnson is a success anywhere 'yo put him and
Chickasha owes him far more than many who are
unacquainted with the services he has rendered the
city are aware. He always has his eyes open for
anything that is for the upbuilding of Chickasha and
his high standing in the business world and his ex-
tensive financial irterests in the city render him an
ideal man for any office in the commercial club.
It was a hign compliment to Mr. Leech that as
a new man in Chickasha he was chosen secretary ot
the comrrt.!.ai! ciub.but it was an earned compliment.
Mr. Lee:hhas taSen an active interest in everything
pertaining to the wellare of the town since the day '
he located here. He 's a competent aggressive and
a constant worker. He will devote his best energies
to dutiesof his office.
Me. Mahtis was another new man who was
honored making up the new list of commercial club
officers. He is president of the Chickasha Gas Co.
and has invested a large amount of capital in the city.
He has great faith in the city and is deeply interested
in its advancement. He will be a worker who can
be relied upon to do his duty at all times.
