the Fatal Shot.
William A. Morrow was the
victim of a fatal accident which
occiired at eight o'clock last even-
Morrow had been to the coun-
try with a party of friends. It is
siioposcd that he had business
with parties near A'lie. The
iiiemU rs of the party had taken
their guns to do some hunting a
long the way. In the party were
Oscar and Jim Hodge Claud Gray
and a Mr. Hornbeck. They were
in a surrey. As they stopped at
Morrow's home on Pennsylvania
Avenue between 3rd and 4th st.
Morrow got out of the vehicle.
The others were preparing to get
out w hi n a gun held by Jim Hodge
was accidentally discharged the
contents eiiterim; Sorrow's left
breast and killing him instantly.
Dr. Mansliolt was returning
fioiii a call in the vicinity and he
reached the scene about three min-
utes after the report of the gun
was heard. Dr. lioone was sum-
moned and arrived soon after. Life
w is extinct when t he physicians
arrived lilnod was flowing from

Mr. Moirow had lived in this
vicinity a!out four years coming
here from Cleveland county Okla-
hom w here he had resided seven
or e ight years. He sold his prop
erly a few days ago and was pre
paring to move to Texas. He in
tended lo stai t today.
The deceased left a family of six
i hildie:i ranging in age from six
to eighteen years the oldest Ix-ing
a son and the next younger a
daugnter alwut sixteen years of

kept house for him. Mrs. Morrow
was a cousin of Mrs. Henry Frey.
Mr. Frey was summonded from
his home near Cement. He came
this morning and took charge of
the children and attended to the
funeral arrangements and other
necessary affairs.
Jim I lodge w as taken in custody

gation.
Mr. Morrow was aliout forty-six
years of age. He was a sober
industrious man lie held land
leases for a number of years and
engaged in the cattle business and
fanning.
The district court has lieen
largely occupied with the criminal
calendar during the past three
days.
The case of A. W. and P. V.
Adkins charged with receiving
stolen property took up much
time. The jury is still out.
Geoj-ge Allen was on trial for
murder yesterday and today. The
case has not yet been concluded.
The following cases have been
disposed of:
Nels litter receiving stolen
goods dismissed.
Jas. A. Morris larceny dismiss-
ed". lieu Neville catnal knowledge
dismissed.
Ed SjKars weapon dismissed.
Andrew Foster larceny fined
$10.00 and sentenced to six months
in jail.
W. L- Goins assault to kill fine
$50 and sentenced to six months in
jail; sentence susiendcil during
good behavbr.
Arthur James larceny plead
guilty sentenced to one year and
one day in prisoi.; sentence sus-
pended during good behavior.
