vAflcr all Ibis dreadfully mean fel
low we have been laying out to l
dogs the profiteer is n ghost a crea-
ture of imagination. That is the way
a distinguished Harvard scholar ex-
presses it after .spending u consider
able length of time thoroughly in
vestigating all phases of pofitecrs
ing. His knowledge of this subject
enables him to illustrate his conten-
tion that there is no such thing as a
profiteer as follows: He says in
1013 there was about $2.50 worth of
Jraw wool in a suit of clothes which
was sold for 2..00. We cheerfully
p.ild the $25.00 and strutted off feel-
ing that we had beaten the tailor out
of ten or twelve dollars. But today
on account of the increase in the cost
of raw wool there is about $7.50
worth of raw wool in the suit for
which the tailor asks $75.00. At this
price we cry out "Ouch!" and u&
'cuse the tailor of profiteering. How-
Tulsa Cdolorcd people were
talking early Wednesday morning
about a serious killing affray which
it had been rumored had occurred
out in the Addition late Tuesday
night. The Tulsa Star reporter
chafing this information down has
Icurncd that only one case of killing'
had taken place. The unfortunate
L-jctim of this shooting affair is Mrs.
itculah Gwinn a. .young .married
woman 25 years old formerly of
St. Louis Mo. but recently living in
Tulsa Addition with her husband
who at present is out of the city. A
very great mystery clouds the
killing of this young woman and it
is generally supposed that robbery
prompted the atack on her
resulting in her death. Her slayer
is not positively known She was
wuyluld ut eleven o'clock Tuesday
night and there seems to have bcci
no witnesses on account of the
lateness of the hour. Her parents
