mid that's the way all the
"good scouts" feel about it. It
is a real privilege and a pleasure
to the man who has Urn welfare
of the boys at heart to invest his
money in such a manner.
This is the sort of spirit which
is fast putting over the scout
proposition in Chickasha. The
responses already received indi-
cate the sentiment of the com-
munity in nn unmistakable way.
Chickasha is going on the Boy
Scout map that is already de-
creed. Don't you want to be one of
the backers of the Boy Scouts?
There is no doubt that it will
bring you solid satisfaction to
know that you are assisting in a
cause which means so much to
the youth of the town todny aud
which will mean better citizens
in the years to come.
Thus far the donations re-
ceived have ranged from $200
down to ifilO. In this campaign
the idea of assigning "quolas"
has been eliminated- Tt is left
wholly to the individual to de-
termine the extent to which he
wants to.be identified with (be

WEALTH ROLLS WESTWARD.
Westward the course of bank-
ing takes its way no less than
of empire. Until a few years ago
as everyone knows. New York
City ruled the nation's finances.
Now the controller of the cur-
rency reports that at the cl-jse
of the past year the east alto-
gether held only about forty-
seven per cent of national bank
resources and that the twelve
states generally known as the
Middle "West held greater re-
sources than were reported for
entire country 27 years ago.
It is generally conceded that
New York while losing its mas-
tery of the country's banking as
a result of the regional banking
law and the westward sweep of
prosperity will remain the most
powerful money center in Amer-
ica. It may be as well though
not to be too sure about that.

F. L. Carpenter state secretary of

By queer coincidence his statement
was verified by press dispatches on
Wednesday telling of the murder of
three heroic Near East workers by
brigands in Syria.
"Despite the death of these three
workers we must go on" said Mr.
Carpenter today "We cannot allow
the innocent to die of starvation
