There is no longer room for doubt
that the storm has been weathered.
The ltanks and larger financial in-

protect the market. The Iosscb Thurs-

created the alarm of Thursday and
the statement that the stock clear-

without the dishonoring of a single
check seemed to lay the cornerstone
of a new fabric of confidence. The
market opened in a rather feverish
and unsettled state ami there was a
rather sharp decline in prominent
stocks but later the market nteadied
down and prices recovered their ear-
lier losses and began to ad a nee.
There has been keen interest mani-
fested in the final result of the con-

Iola Kan. May 11. Four men have
been arrested so far for complicity
in the rioting here on Wednesday
night when the Italian workmen
brought here to work in the cement
plant were forcibly removed from
their bunks and conducted to the sta-
tion and shipped sway ltumors of in-
juries have dwindled to the assertion
that a Mr. Williams is carrying a ball
in the back of his neck probably fired
by an excited friend behind him. The
cement plant is running without in-
terference but the output yesterday
waa about 1400 barrels aa compared
to 2.300 the day the Italians helped
In the factory. The company is anx-
ious to get a full force and catch up
with ordera aaat so feels inclined to
meet the demands of the workmen
that one of the foremen Sid Wing
be relieved. Wing is the son of a
rich Michigan man who own stock
in the company and came here when
the plant waa begun. He never got
along smoothly with the men under
him and the sentiment was strong
against him. Now he i charged with
the bringing here of the Italians ami
when hat walkee along the street last
night with two frienda a mob of about
100 followed on his heels ttooting and
mailing threats. No violence waa
done but If he remains here trouble
ia likely to develop. It is believed the
company would relieve hint but for
