politan cafe was fined $50 and costs
n -the justice court of T. V. Moore
yesterday on a charge of working fe-
males more than nine hours in any
ono day.
These men have spent considerable
time in Chickashsi looking over tho
labor situation here and in addition
to the case ngainsl Pasalis Peter
Dunias partner of I'asalis was
charged with working females mora
than 51 hours in any one week. I
"Other cases were ready to bo

K.isterly yesterday afternoon. "In
justice court today we agreed that if
PasnliH would plead guilty to the
(barge against him we would dis-
miss the action against Dunias and
would not file the other cases In
which we have collected evidence.

this city where tho proprietor of an
establishment is going to get into
trouble if ho does not stop the vio-
lation of laws governing the working
of females. I have not as yet suf-
ficient evidence to justify a case be-

tend to persecute anyone but they
simply must not violate these lawn
Will R. E. Davenport county judge
of Grady county be suspended from
office pending a hearing on allega-
tions that he is guilty of violation of
ihe penal statues involving moral
turpitude as recommended by the
grand jury in session hero last
week?
This will be decided tomorrow
when District Judge Phelps of Kl Ho-
no conies to Chickasha to act us spe-
cial judge in the case. William Stacey
county attorney has received news
that Judge Phelps hdd been appoint-
ed special judge in the case and
would arrive in the city Wednesday.
The appointment of the special judge
was made by Chief Justice Owen of
the supreme court.
According to County Attorney Sta-
cey Judge Phelps will either issue
the order-suspending Davenport from
office pending hearing on the count
or refuse to issue tho order as rec-
ommended by the grand jury. This
is a mutter of discretion that can bo
exercised by the court according to
the county prosecutor.
