ly on hand to render asslstanco to tho
president but tho" president was dis-
inclined to recolvo medical attention
saying that he was but slightly hurt.
It Is thought however that he sus-
tained Internal Injuries.
The president's programme today
included a Journey through Connectl-

railway crossing an electric car waa
noticed coming at a terrific rate of
speed.
Mr. Craig signalled tho motorman
to slop but ho apparently paid no at-
tention to tho warning and tho car
came plunging on to Its work of
death. Witnesses of tho accident
statea that tho motorman was speed
log his oar In order to reach the club.
The president Governor Crano and
Secretary Cortelyou were pllod up In
a heap. Tho awo striokon orowd
which witnessed tho accident rushed
woro In a state of consternation. Tho
swelling in tho president's faco was
getting greater all tho while but he
kept his appolntmont at tho Asplnwall
hotol whoro ho roforrod to tho acci
dent assuring tho pooplo that he was
not badly hurt and requesting them
not to applaud.
