Destitute Family.
On the east side of Bull Creek in
the old Jack Blevlns house there ex-
ists a case of destitution that should
be relleTcd without delay. A man
his wife and mother and a number of
children seem to be In want. The
man says he Is not able to work or
has not been for some time back and
is out of the necessaries of life. Some-
thing should be done to place them in
a situation to cam their own living If
possible but their present needs ought
to be supplied.

Finding of the Body.
The remainf of Dr. Straw were
sent east Friday evening by express
over the Frisco via St. Louis.
Everything carried by the deceased
when he left here Sunday was found
save his spectacles. The bnggy whip
two lap robes and cushion every-
thing was found before the body. A
young man named Duggan living
near the scene of the mishap found
the body lodged under a drift while
probing with an iron hook.
It Is said by those who visited the
scene to be somewhat of a mystery
how the deceased could have drowned
in so small a stream but he was un
able to swim and the buggy evidently
capsized throwing him headlong into
the raging torrent with his overcoat
tn and lap robes around him where
doubtless he floundered helplessly and
pen'6hed within a few feet ot the
land.
Mrs. T. T. Wiroer and a few friends
had a floral offering placed upon the
remains of Dr. Straw while the train
stood ax the depot Saturday cvenin .
