more significant of her national re-
covery than any other evidence that
could be produced.
French export trade in 1?20
reached a total of twenty-two ar.d

highest value evec attained by
French exports in a sinple year. In
Vili theralue was slightly over six
and one-half billions while fn 1915
due to the burden of the war it fell
to three and three-quarter billions.
The 1923 total is approximately
double the value of France's 1919
export trade.
Significant of increasing ability to
supply her own needs is the fact
that France's imports from other
countries are decreasing. Tbe bal-
ance cf her trade that is. the re-
lation of imports to export im-
proved almost eleven billion francs
