Ono Bank In Good Shape.
Avery Haltering report of the First
National Dank safety and conserva-
tism especially considered Is pub-
lished In this Issue. Uuder tho na-
tional banking act IS per cent of the
deposits are required to be held at all
tunes to meet demands; thlsstatoment
shows that almost 6-' porcont.of tho
deposits aro on hand This is not be-
causo there has been a lack of applica-
tions lor loans (the contrary Is the
case) but becauso theollicials felt that
absolulo security in behalf o deposit-
ors was a paramount consideration to
largo earnings for the stockholder.
Tho result is that while other banks

would suggest that ho step in now

awkward and slow about "catching

counted. Quo of tho primary efforts
was to securofrom tho oandidatcs ol

partial success was attained; ono can-
didate insisted that they had a olat-

Tho presumption Is that tho objec-

Inst Saturday at Pheasant Hill was to

altogether enjoyable iitlujr. An abun-
