A distressing accident occurred last
week at G. V. Green's placo on Jones
creek. A man ol family named John
Kurick had a kettle of tar on ttio stove
which boiled over. In an instant he
picked it up and started for tho door
when the mass caught lire burning
tho unlortunato man's hands arms
and face In a terrible niauner and set-
ting the houso on fire. Mr. Kurick's
helpless condition made It Impossible
for him to lend any aid and tho houso
and nearly all its contents were con-
sumed by tho Haines. Tho family is
now staying at a neighbor's on the
samo farm where Dr. Usgby is attend-
ing the injured man.
