CaldveU Journal.
Rev. G. T. Thompson is the most ex-
tensive farmer in the Territory as is
evidenced by a few facts mentioned by
Mr. Frank Skinner the efficient driver
of the only steam plow in the Nation.
Of the SOd acres at present under culti-
vation ISO arc planted to com the re-
mainder being in- millet. There re-
malns a small patch of 200 acres staked
off to be broken as fast as possible.
The steam horse is resting at prcM?nt
wailing-for the proper development of
a coal mine which is being opened on
Mr. Thompson's place. Thirteen hands
arc now engaged and.undor the super
intendence of Mr. linebanan late ef

The spring round-ups arc no a com-
pleted and after carefully calculating
losses a few of the stock men claim to
be sfighlly disfigured financially while
the majorily are well pleased xrith their
success in rounding up more of their
stock than they expected to find alive.
The round-ups from all repot ts havo
been thorough and although tho losses
are heavy the extensive territory over
wliich .stock ranged fails to show np
the number of carcasses of dead cattle
that cattle-owners expected to find.
Nearly all stock men now admit that

than was supposed earlier in tho sea-

Ih removal after another term to
the vicinity of Muscogee will be a
cause of regret to the inhabitants
of this place. Access to the rail-

that will lead to4he removal of the

liberal action of the Creek Council
in granting the right of location to
