V0I1O 'of down is lil 10 slogan
of tlio boys in tlio tronclios'uud
if
tlio majority of tho Republicans
is for it.
:
ITonry Kobbins of South Mo-
Alostor says that the Republi-
can party of Indian Territory
will vote for the con. This is
absolutely wrong but it shows
why the attorney Guess and the
barber Washington were for the
con at the Negro conention.
Rohbins and the last named
cusses are in the same boat but
they can't fool the common or-
dinary fellows.
At
this writing it looks as
if there will be a Republican
state convention at which it
will be decided whether or not
the Republicans should put out
a state ticket. The rank and
tile of the Republican party are
against a ticket and will not
vote for a single person for any
oilice.
The 50000 Negro voters of the
new state will refuse to vote for
any otlicerand will vqto against
the con If this be treason
then m ike the most of it." The
battle is on and will be a tight
to the finish.

Therefore bo it resolved by

On this declaration of princi-
ples all classes and all national
ities of citizenship are earnestly
invited tojillign themselves with

Muskogee Phoenix:
Now Doug' is a member of the
Hamilton Club and we presume
that his brother members arejn
sympathy with him and his
ideas. If such is the case can
any self respecting Colored man
or any white man who believes
in a "square deal'' triipport this
silk stocking club and its princi-
ples? ' We regiet very much thai
some (5 ood Men have linked
themselves to this corpse
because as a political factor it is
not wo'rfh a tinker's d 11 by a
el n and half.
The recent victory for our
party in Muskogee was won by
the common ordinary fellows'
when all of the big ducks in
each faction said it could not ho
done. The hoys in the trenches
hoh black andvhite said we
eaii. and. they ;did ij in good
shape.
Our position is just this; if the
fellows who wear silk stockings
coujt come im contact; with the
cotton jck fellows and with
those who wear no socks at all
.fcheitf let them create a h 1 of
their own zCticl we will go on
If our party believes Doug
and his traitors were right in
thoh'j resolutions then we bow
our heads in grief ad sjiamq
but wo clout givve u) the fight
''Wo willf stay.. intho' church
and whip the devil out."
Either we are .right and Dou
is wrong )r Doug is right arid
we are wroijig. If yo are wrong
we will take a -bapk scab a 11$
beg to be forgiven and if Doug
is wrongjiq should follow: a sim-
ilar course. And wo' will for-
give him and his fellow traitors
but d n them we caii'rijiver
forget them. This may nolbe
according to christian ethics but
it is human filature all the same.
