TO OUR SUBSCRIBERS AND FRIENDS.
The Indian Advocate enters upon its twelfth year.
Begun in 1888 it has appeared since in various forms and
has met with great success. Its object is the progress of
civilization in the Oklahoma and Indian Territories by pro-

in particular and of the settleis in these regions generally.

also trust that the present shape though smaller yet han-
dier in many respects will meet the general approval. It
is their intention and wish to have it soon printed on their
own premises. The journal is to be divided into four well-
defined and separate departments. The first will tieat of
Indian affairs stories relating to the surviving India'n tribes
in the Territories and items regarding our numeious Indian
Missions. The second will be devoted to Benedictine news
Benedictine devotions and details about our Monastery the

Benedictine Order at larse. A third section the Educa-
tional will be exclusively devoted to our institutions
colleges apostolic and parochial schools. And the last
division will give biographies descriptions of memoiable
