Touched On High Taxes.
Rov. A. R. Spicer pastor of
the Christiun church at Lawton
spoke here in the Methodist
church Saturday evening in be-
half of the Law and Order
League of Comanche county.
He gave :i very able address and
said many pood things.
He stated that the League is
made up of men from all politic-
al parties and has never endots-
ed any rmdidate for office. He
advised all voters to investigate
the past records of candidates
before voting at the August pri-
maries. He spoke about the lawless
element being the cause of our
high taxes and said that it is the
business of every tax payer in
the entire county to help the
League in its law enforcement in
order to keep down the taxes.
8th Grade Examination.
The next Eighth Grade exam-
ination will be held Thursday
and Friday May 14th and 15th
at the following places:
Geronimo Junction Lawton
Elgin Fletcher. Chattanooga
Faxon Moen Indiahoma and
districts Nos. IS 21 37 and 4G.
Pupils who failed in the pre-
vious examination may take
those again. Where the average
is low I would suggest taking
some of the other subjects a-
gain in order to raise this aver-
age. No extra fee is required
for taking these subjects.
Every paper should have the
pupil's full name and mail ad-
dross giving the rural route if
nny.
Do not send the examination
papers by parcel post. Written
matter carries the letter rate
Send by express or have some
one bring them to the oflicr
