little boy wat playing out in front of
the hoite In the itreet when a car
from one of the garaget came along at
a high rate of tpeed ttruck the little
fellow and ran over him breaking a
collar bqne and injuring other bonet
and buying him badly. The only

The driver of the cat elaimt we under-

time to ttop and hi break wouldn't
work.
ln't it about time tbete feol rx-
cutet for running people down thnuld
ttopv If a man would drive a team of
good trotting hortet through the
treet at the fatt gate thete care are
running he would be arretted and
heavily fined and would terve him
right. But becaute it it a car nothing
it taid about it.
The tpted limit it too high. Twelve
mile an hour meant a mile every five
minute?. That it tatter than the tpeed
of the fatt dittant runner. It would
take a mighty good runner to get out
of the way of a car going that gait if
it got any way clote to him before he
hoticed it.
We hope the city dadt will reduce
the tpeed limit to not exceed eight
mile per hour on the ttreett and tix
would be better. A mile every ten
minute !n't tuch bad going. And
put whatever law there ie in force. It
it a common tight any day to fee cart

force the law or repeal it.

MANUAL TRAINING CLASS EXHIBIT.
Siime of tbe work which the Manual
Training Clat of B. H. S. ha been
doing this year was placed on ex-
hibition in the window at The Carter
Tracy Hardware Company the past
week and it certainly is deserving of
compliment. We examined the work
carefully and we believe that it will
compare most favorably with that of
any ichool. We mutt admit tlit w
were surprised to know that student!
in our tchool were doing such high-
grade work An examination of the
work ipeakt for the capable instruction
they have received to execute it. Wc
