We had a nlc'o rain Sunday night and
a tmile now adorn the faco of each
farmer you meet.
Died at tho home of Geo. Adami
Mrs. Beiaio Adams wlfo of Alya
Adams. She had been a constant suf-
ferer from 'the dreaded dfscase con-
sumption for some time and it had
long been known that no earthly
powers could stay tho Grim Reaper off
for long yet her death was a sad shock
to all. Deceased departed this life at
12 o'clock Friday night July 80th and
was laid to rest in the South Flats
Baptist Cemetery Saturday July Slst
at four p m. She leaves to mourn hor
loss a husband and two children along
with a mother and a sister and u host
of other relatives and friends. Her
huiband is tho second son of Mr. and
Mrs. Geo Adams. Wo extend our
deepest sympathy to all In their
bereavement.
While returning home from the fu-
neral of Mrs. Allium Mr. Anderson's
team became unmanageable and ran
away throwing the occupants out and
seriously hurting Mrs. Anderson win
has been unconscious ever since about
18 hours. Mr. Anderson was badlj
shaken up but no serious injuries.
Just how serious tho injuries of Mrs.
Anderson arc Is not known. It Is
feared that her head and spino aro
badly hurt.

Saturday was tho last day for our
old mail carriers and todny our new
automobllo route starts. It has taken
our mail a wholo week to reach Hoivor

will reach there now. We aro sorry to
see Clyde quit our line but what Uncle
Sam says has to go.

by tho people of Beaver during their
visit to our city week beforo last;

like a skyrocket six or seven cars and
the occupants wore waving salutations
frantically Tho first two cars were
Heaver cars a reception committee for
tho town but tho othors they were
tho ones that caused the Doostors to
ruiso from the cushions and yell like a
bunch of hyenas. The other cars woro
Liberal folk most of thorn tho women
and glr) nil bannered nnd making a
racket thot soon drowned the feeble
elTort of the Boosters nnd they Imag
ined tlioy could make considerable
nolso too. Wo noted incidentally
thnt the Liberal folk not. only sur-
prised us by coming to Deaer but
they brought nlong that old ghost
Commercial Club and In large if not so
very prettily formed letters appeared

LIGHTNING STRIKES FLUE.
During the rain Sunday ercning
lightning struck tho house of Mr and
Mrs. B. 1 Russel striking tho flue and
demolishing it knocking the stovepipe
and caps from the kitchen Btovo and
scattering soot throughout tho adjoin-
ing rooms. No further damage was
done. No one mas at homo nt tho
time. Mr. nnd Mrs. Russell were is-
itlng friends In the country and v ere
detained on account of the rain till
Monday morning. It is perhaps for-
tunate that they wero not at home. At
any rate they aro not regretting being
detained.

there was the Beaver band placing
energetically a two-step and the ctti-
rens gave tho Boosters a hearty net-
come Heretofore the Boosters had
been the main show but nt Beaver
thoso Liberal ladles attracted many an
cyo that would otherwise have rested
upon a Booster.
"It mas dinner time for tho Booster
and they sought it notwithstanding
that tho "Liberal Commercial Club
folk intimated that the Beaver people
concluded to let them have all that
had boon prepared. After the lunch
hour under guidance of tho Beaver
Commercial club tho Boosters nnd the
women and girls and the men who
aided them in raising the banner of the
ancient ghost tho "Liberal Commer-
cial Club" were taken to the court
house whore a program was arranged
W.T. Quinn introduced the Christian
minister of Bcavor who gavi) a rattling
good speech on conditions friendship
tatvn improvement and gave a u ol-
eoma to thg Boosters and "The Com-
mercial Club." Clyde R. Commons
answered in a neat speech thanking
Beaver for the courtesies Mrs. Mauatt
of tho "Commercial Club" was called
on to give a status of the case of the
"Commercial Club" and sho came for-
ward with a speech that was a surprise
and a delight to the audience. The
band gave the usual concert tho male
quartet was received with shouts of
delight. After tho program was over
tho Boosters started far the nexfotop
Forgan. A party of Beaver folk joined
the Boosters which was now reinforced
with the "Commercial Club." There
is a toll road out of Beaver and the
Booster train went over it but the toll
was paid by tho Beaver people. An-
other courtesy that will bo remem-
bered. "The coming of tho Liboral pcoplo to
Boaver helped mightily. They pos-
sessed tho "pep" that essential so
necessary on trips like these."
