WANT MORE SCRAPERS!
Pending arrival of grading machinery which has been
.prdored the Southwestern Construction Company are
bnuly in need of more scrapers for use on the railroad
grade. A number of large Fresno Scrapers are owned by
the various townships. If the. officers of townshlp3 own-
ing any of those Fresno Scrapers will kindly allow the Con-
struction Company the use of same on the grade and will
notify the Secretary John E. Swaim where they may be
found or will send thorn in if they have opportunity the
favor will be greatly appreciated and they will bo put to
good use for the benefit of us all. f

present in the Blauchard building.
Tito Heaver County Teachers' Asso-
ciation is in sossjon hero today and
will continue until Saturday. A large
number of touchers are in attendance.

by the owner J. W. Webb to hit prop-

that his condition may rapidly improve

his recovery.

"Duster" MeKillips had a birthday
last Thursday mid his grandmother
Mrs. John Webb invited In a number
of his llttlu friends to spend tho after-
noon with him. All the littlo tots of
tho to;n woro Included in the guest
list and lht-y had a merry time ot it
just as little folks always have. Thoy
were served with nice refroihmeutB
wltioh they thoroughly onjoyed for
what is better to tho littlo ones than a
"play-dinner?"

Ono thousand foot of grade will bo
completed by Saturday night and a
full force will be kept at work until
tho road is completed.
Many more men and teams ate avail-
able at this time but owing to the non-
arrival of additional gradlni: machin-
ery no more can be put on the Job just
now. Machinery will arnvu in n few
duvs however when fifty teams will be
put to work and tho grada wllj go
through with a rush.
There is no longer a conjecture
ibout Bcuver-H getting a railroad. It
is an assured fact now and if anybody
ueeds to bo further shown they may
bo convinced to their utmost satisfac-
tion within tho next six months when
the roadbed will be completed and tho
steol laid snd big long trains of grain
and other products go gliding up over
the picturesque Sand Hills ovar th
new stub line and the valley will echo
and ro-ocho with the choo-choo of the
groat steel monster aud the din of the
wheels as they clip merril; over the
rails will make snect music to thw ears
of the hundreds of citizens of Beaver
county who will he so wonderously
benefitted by the new rocd. There is
only one thlni; that our people must
keop in mind and that Is that this is
THKirt road and if they aru to recoive
the greatest benefit they must stay
with their part of tho job and not try
to shift it onto the other fellow. Thoro
is a part for all who are to receive a
benefit to perform and one cannot do
another's work. Some are putting up
money others aro putting up work.
It all counts for tho samo and In the
end all will share in tho benefits
equally.
The people are going into tho propo-
sition with a zeal uud onthusiasm that
will win and wo have faith enough in
them to bolieve that they will keep it
up. All it takes is harmony co-operation
and united olTort.
