large
percentage of spoiled nnd damaged
brush. In fact most of the brush ecnt
to market is damaged and first class
brush is really scarce. For that reason
the really good brush is still command-
ing n high price. Tho market ranges
from $100 to $120 for tho top stuff.
Last weok prices paid at Lindsay Ok..
for Hhed cured ilrst cluss brush were
$00 $100 $110 $flG $120 and 123.
Monday of this week good- brush was
purchased for $1 15. Damaged and dis-
colored brush sells for prices very
much lower than these. One dealer
claimed that brush hud been sold as
low as $00 por ton.
There is a great difference between
the market conditions of this year and
last. This year brush h not purchased
until it is harvested and In tho balo.
Last year tho demand was so great
brush was contracted for while it was
standing in the Held.
Thus far the manufacturers have
taken all that has been offered. This
will not continue much longer. When
tlio later crop is harvested it will be
purchased by tho dealers and manu-
facturers who store for futuro use.
Farmers are warned to harvest their
crop as soon ns it is ready and be care-
ful about curing nnd baling. Some
growers have lost heavily this season
because they were not ready to harvest
when the lime came. Daiuaged and
discolored brush docs nut bring the
top price. The difference is very
material.
