Include In your plan a scheme of
decoration and think It over several
times seriously and carefully consid-
ering not only the room itself but IU
relation to other rooms for that la
equally essential (is every room bears
an intlmato relation to thoso adjoin-

rating have the decorator roady for
them and be ready for the decorator
with a definite plan and a fixed limit

Plan your backgrounds so as to give
not only the best effect to carpets fur-
nishings and bric-a-brac but also to
the cccupants of your homo. Don't
put u blonde woman in a rose colored
room or a brunetto in a green room.
Remember too that excessive pattern
on your wall gives the room a crowd-
ed effect.
Now to the actual cleaning.
Start at the closets upstairs and bo
gin by removing all the clothing giv-
ing each piece a thorough dusting
brushing and airing and washing all
washable fabrics so as to remove
every trace of soil or dust.
Now with good soap and water
wash woodwork and floors and If
walls are soiled or paper torn tint the
whole surface.
Clean all closets first and settle
them again before beginning In the
bedrooms. Leave mother's room to
the last so that she may have a com-
fortable bed every nlghi as a cer-
tainty. Then too It Is wiser to have
one room in good order in case of Ill-
ness or accident
' The cleaning of bedrooms Includes
the washing of blankets the washing
of beds If they are of metal of springs
the thorough airing of mattresscB and
pillows the careful wiping of the floor
and If the carpet ItfMiol removed the

which have been immersed in a car-

Standing woodwork windows and
doors requiro vigorous treatment for
the bedrooms must be scrupulously
clean.
Next comes stairs and halls and
then we are ready for downstairs. Bet-
ter far better take a day's reBt here
or leave It for another week that the
tired nerves and the strained backs
may recuperate.

Llaht on Cause of Tuberculosis.
The sixth annual meeting of tho Na
tional Association for the Study nnd
Prevention of Tuberculosis was held
In Washington on May 2 nnd 3. Among
the most interesting papers was ono
Jiy Dr. William II. Park tho famous
pathologist and head or tlio labora-
tories of tho New York city depart-
ment of health. Dr. Park contended
that pulmonary tuberculosis Is very
rarely if ever caused by Infection
from bovine source!. such as the
drinking of milk or the eating of ment.
Tuberculosis of tbo stomach and inter-
nal organs which compose only about
ten per cent of tho sickness from
this disease nro often caused by drink
ing or eating Infected matter. Doctor
Park substantiated his conclusions by
showing tho results of years of Inves-
tigation and examination of pathologi-
cal specimens. His conclusions aro
substantially thoso reached by Dr.
Robert Koch tho discoverer of the tu-
bercle bacillus.
