Klepper's Platform.
I desiro to say to the voters of the
1st DiBt. that I have lived two and n
half miles south of Caleyville and nine
miles northwest of Logan for tho past
eight years and I wish to refer them to
my neighbors who have known me
during this timo.
Deforo comnig to Oklahoma I lived
in Missouri and my time was spent in
going to school farming and clerking
in general stores. I hnvo recommends
from tho men who I worked for and
would bo glad to show them to anyone
that is interested. I believe that any
man asking for tho Bupport of the vot-
ers of tho county for an office should
come well recommended and if his
neighbors will not vote for him he cer-
tainly does not deserve the support of
tho people who do not know him. I
believe in a business administration
lower taxes and a square deal for all
and if I am elected I will work for these
issues.
Respectfully Yours

sioner of tho 3d District.

Let's Lock The Barn Door.
Too often it is tho case that we lock
the barn door after the horso is stolen
Let's not have that the case with us in
tho . matter of iiro protection. We
can't afford to let the matter rest as it
ip nny longer. There is too much at
stak. ; Haf of our town has already
been swept by tiro and our community
robbed of thousands of dollars and we
cannot nffoid to sit down and not make
some effort to protect ourselves against
n repetition of this dire calamity. The
lire which broke out Sunday afternoon
and foe a time bid fair to swallow up
tho remainder of our littlo city should
be lesson enough for ub. We escaped
that day only by the merest chance
and another time we may not be so
lu?ky Evory precautionary mothed
possible to take should be made nnd
wo sjiould not allow ourselves to long
remain entirely ut tho mercy of Provi-
dence as wo huvo in the past One
wholo block in ruins is a bud enough
sight. It is not pleasant to contem-
plate the balance of our town in ashes
but just so sure us we do not make
some provisions to avert it there is go
ing to come a dny when wo will rogret
our inaction.
This matter sjiou'd bo attended to
Let'our business people got together
and talk this thing over and do some-
thing. It is our move. What aro we
going to do?

Best School Dintrict
Organization.
Believing that to rear our children
properly and to train them for the best
citizenship is our llrst duty and highest
privilege the best organization of the
school district becomes u matteruf Hist
importance to each parent each tox-
payor and .each teacher.
Though I knew well the danger of
preseti'ting a new plan for tho nrrnnge-
uieul of school districts assured by
pnst experience that man who suggests
a change in methods must not expect a
great following I rely upon the pro-
gressive spirit of Hie one hundred nnd
fifty four teacllers now enrolled in tho
Uenvor County Institute nnd the excel-
lent nbility nnd wide experience of the
faculty in charge of these teachers to-
'gether with the unquestioned pkill of
the Co. Hupt to consider this plan and
put into practical operation nnd show
its results.
First Tho District. Each congres-
sional township of thirty-six sections
shall constitute a school district
Second The School Ground. Ten
acres on tho BoutheaBt comer of sec-
tion sixteen shall be given to tho dis-
trict forever.
Third Privilege of tho Citizen. All
citizens shall have equal power in each
district meeting in the election of olll-
cers. investment of funds nnd the
making of Inws for the control of ofll-
ccib teachers and Hchools
Tho above three essential provisions
being met the people of ench district
will establish such schools as seem best
Bulted to their needs. They would
probably establish one central school
for advanced grades and schools in the
most convenient pluces for the lower
grades all such details being worked
out aa thp need arose.
The voters in the school meeting
should have power to locate design
and build school houses levy unlimited
taxes elect teacher and fir salaries.
Thoy should also adopt courses of
study select text bookB nnd provide
for the conveyenco of children to and
frQtn school.
Eneh dfstrict ia toTbe 'under the sup-
ervision of a Principal nnd each cchodl
will be graded strictly which of itself
will double tho efficiency of ihoschoolR
Anydeaolier can do twice us much work
if not hindered by higher or lower
grades which take her time. Each
school being graded a term of four
months will be worth more than a term
of eight months iu a school In which
teacher tries to train six grades. We
thus have with almost no rxtm cost
the advantage of the city Bohools
The indirect advantages are beyond
compute. Libraries public hall and
all apparatus aie at the service of
school church farmers' union debut-
ing club ball team singing school can
all use tliis central building.
I'Iip social advantage removes th
little children from evil influence of
older children and relieves the advan-
ced grades from the annoyance of the
frequent. rccesseB and necessary rest
periods of the lower grades.
The civic advantages include a per-
fect democratic government u perTect
.system of sehooMruining for the bett
citizenship with duties and respon-
sibilities suited to the age and need of
each pupil tho combined result of
which bindB the people of each district
together for the common good.
With such organizations our rural
schools can iu onu year bo placed on a
levpl with the best city schools our
children be educated at homo and the
petty annoyanceB incident n our pro-
sent methods be forever ended.
