forming reading.
It is said that so long as men strive

America spells "opportunity." This
lias been seen over and over again in
the number f its citizins who have
risen from humblest ranks to higl po-
sitions of.trust and responsibility. The
uames of Lincolh.Garlield aad many
others north nnd south east nnd west
naturally occur in this connection
The career of the lato Governor John-
son left fatherless at an early nge
meeting nnd overcoming difficulties
that would havo discounted many
another rising step by stop until at
last ho became the chief cxecutivo of a
great commonwealth and honored by
all lb fresh in our mind. Such lives
as his are an inspiration.

Injcoted into uvery discourse
to make it thoroughly eujoyablo but
in every instance n vnlunble lesson
was taught In n practical way.
Prominent Sunday School workers
from over tho county were in attend-
ance among whom woroT. B. Mooro

and these together with the local
workers from tho Beaver Sundny

if they do so wo can assuro them the

Americans arc hard hitters in poli-
tics but there is an underlying spirit
of fairness which although it may be
temporarily hidden in tho heat of con-
flict shows itself strongly on almost
every occasion. This is been Just now
in special manner in the courtesies
and welcome extended to President
Taft in the visit ho is making different
parts of tho country. Many may dif-
fer from him on his expressed views on
certain questions but for tho man
himself and as chief magistrate of the
nation there is nothing but tiic most
kindly feeling nnd peoplo of all parties
unite in extending to hi in a character-
istic American welcome and hospitality.
