Commissioners Grasham Shields and
James and Mrs. llauscr and 31is
Oyler teacners of tho Beaver scliools
enjoyed a sumptuous turkey dinner at
the lio.no or County Clerk Lailgston
and wife Thursday of last week.
This was not a birthday dinner .nor a
Christmas dinner nor a New Years'
dinner but that household owiled a
very fine turkey which they decreed
mlisl die with the old year 1005 and
Bd they invited the aforesaid to par-
take of the noble specimen of the bird
family along with the many other
choice viands Which 3Irs. Langston
knows so well how' to prepare. AVith-
out desiring to throw bouquets at any-
one we must say that when it comes
to the culinary department 3Irs. Lang-

The Bank has made a good showing
since the re-organization and is one of
the best financial institutions in this
part of the country. They do only
conservative banking and all their
paper is gilt edge. We can commend
them to the people in general. The
courteous treatment accorded all cus-

The actions of Jloses" nnd a few
Republicans around Heat or remind
us of U10 experience tho Democrats
had a few years ago.
A fellow named Jenkins dropped in-
to town nnd with a llourisl started a
Democratic paper and announced in
every issue that he would carry the
Democratic party to victory. Demo-
crats Hocked to him. Frtvors were
showered upon hlin and .for a few
weeks Jie wns in clover. Pretty soon
he Intimated the particular county of-
fice that ho wanted. The Democrats
took their medicine. Then he intimat-
ed who ho wanted for tho balance of
tho tlckes and some of tho Democrats
began to kick. Before Convention
time it dovoloped Hint their Demo-
cratic lriador was a penitentiary bird
and all-around tough. He suddenly
disappeared tho Democratic paper
died and to this day the Democrats
have never mustered sdnicicnt courage
to start another organ. You can't al-
ways sometimes tell those who Hock

So long as they could work ill the
dark Fischer-Savage it Company have
been successful in their manip'ulatldns.
They imagined that Beaver county
people and political meetings wero
dead easy. They went around with
smiling faces ns much as to say 'Must
gaze on us and se& how smart wo are."
But last week they ran against Some-
thing that could not be secretly nian-
ipulatcd. The County Commissioners
forced them to inako n square opcii
fight for the county printing and offi-
cial paper of Beaver county. As 11 re
sult they wore liigloriously defeated
and their wail could be heard all over
town. The Journal Company fell
down ngain. Wo wonder who will bo
the next importation. Their last
"figger-head" worked nobly but ho
looked "Fishy" to the Commissioners.

The "3Ioscs" and Culwell partner-
ship is certainly amusing. Every
week "Moses" writes a nico compli-
mentary article boosting Oulwell as n
Democratic leader. Recently he men-
tioned that a great Democratic pow-
wow was to bo held at Oklahoma City
January 8th and represented Culwell
ns the only Democrat in Beavor County
who had been invited yet all the
time R. II. Loofbourrow 31. G. Wiley
and Fred Tracy all had invitations in
their pockets and wero quietly laugh-
ing at tlio "3IoSCS Culwell Partner

Owing to Commissioners' session 3Ir.
Loofbourrow could not attend but 3Ir.
Tracy and 3Ir. Wiley departed fof tho
'"Pow-wow" last week. Culwell did
nut go. Why? Because Tic had no
invitation.
