know the ruling of the postoffice
department. It has ruled that
Christmas gifts sent through the
mails must be fully prepaid or
they will be sent to the dead let
ter office. A little care in ad
vance will prevent loss to the
sender and perhaps disappoint
ment to the one it was desired to
remember with a holidaygift.

- The Indian Territory seems to
be in a fair way to get what it
. has for a long time been plead-
ing for: An extension of the
jurisdictions and an increase in
number of the federal court-.
Ardmore and Purcell three years
ago had delegations in Washing
ton trying to effect this object.
but the influence of the Texas
courts and congressmen was too
strong. Now however that
the president called especial at
tention to the necessity of home
rule in this respect two or three
bills are being prepared to push
through congress at the earliest
opportunity. Two additional
United States judges will be ap
pointed and three judicial dis
tricts formed. Tahlequah Vin
ita Muskogee South MoAlester
Atoka and Ardmore will be
among the successful towns . The
chief significance attending these
. courts will be the destroying of
the business of the Ft. Smith
and Paris courts which have for
so long in all criminal matters
had a monopoly of the Indian
Territory and whose deputy
marshals take so much delight in
dragging prisoners and wit
nesses so many miles so as to
get mileage and for nothing else.
Oklahoma Star.
It is often a mystery how a cold has
been "caught." The fact is however
that when the blood is poor and the
system depressed one becomes pecul-
iarly liable to diseases. When the
appetite or the strength fails Ayer's
Sarsaparilla should be taken without
delay. lw
Camsttary If tie.
The management of the South Cem-
etery have necessarily entailed a great
expense in which every person who
have relatives buried there -outside
of the potter's field are directly in-
terested. This expense has accrued in
the surveying and platting ofT of
every lot in the cemetery and must
be paid at once. The laborer Is
worthy. of his hire. The original
price for lots 28x30 feet was put at
to. 00 a price insufficient to bear ex-
penses. But that everyone may have
an equal showing it has been deemed
advisable to continue the present
price for 30 days from this date after
which all lots unsold will be held at
SiO each. Every resident in Ardmore
and vicinity is directly interested in
this matter and your appreciation of
the management and concurrence in
the foregoing Is earnestly hoped for.
A plat of the cemetery drawn by Mr.
Ressler who surveyed every lot can
be found at my office on Caddo street
where lots can be selected and re-
ceipts for same obtained.
This notice applies alike to those
who already hold lots as on no ac-
count will receipts be given until the
money is paid.
