INDIAN LAND COLONY SUtEflE
A Glowing Fraud Beta Perpetrated
: - ob the People.
A special from Washington sets
forth the fact that for weeks past
the interior department has been not
little annoyed 'by the receipt of
letter from people in every portion
of tbe conn trv enclosing clrcnlir
which had betfo sent them by a con
cern under the name of the New Col-
ony Company and Mhe American
Tribune Company of Indianapolis
Ind. The circular invitee tbe recipi
ents to become members of the New
Colony Company. .. .
Tbe interior department declares
that the conditions which are named
in the pampblet are impossible of
fulflllment.aod it is known tbat steps
nave been taken to prevent tbe far
ther sending ont of tbe pamphlets.
Acting Secretary Ryan says tbat it
would be impossible for any Individ
ual or company to secure 30000 acres
of land in tbe Kiowa and Comanche
country as is proposed by tbe pro
moters of the scheme. It is also
premature for any one to count on
securing any of the land under any
conditions. Tbe law which provides
for tbe opening of the reservation to
settlement also provides that its
opening shall be under tbe directions
of the Secretary of the interior and
nnder such rules and regulations and
conditions as he shall propose. No
one knows whether the secretary
will allow a "rush" such as was
seen when tbe Oklahoma country
was opened or what conditions will
surround the opening. In conse-
quence of this condition and the
fact that tbe alloting of tbe choicest
of the lands to the members of the
tribes now on the reservation will
not be completed for at least nine
months to come the officials of tbe
department are unqualiSed in their
denunciation of tbe scheme and Its
projectors. A portion of tbe circu
lars which have been sent broadcast
tbrougbont the United States reads
as follows:
Rushes are dangerous. By join
ing our colony you avoid the rush
You secure about all you want and it
gives you time to prepare to go to
your allotments while you are sure
of being located among good people
as your neighbors. Through our
agents we locate tbe lands not less
than 30000 acres. We divide it up
survey it into various sized tracts
reserving 1000 acres for the city loca
tion. Beginning at the city bound
ary lines we lay off five acre tracts
and next ten acres then forty acres
then eighty acres Persons wanting
160 acres must take four shares
which is large enough for an ordi
nary farm. However we will give
those who wish more land tbe option
of Durcbasine tbe next tract to him
at a fair valuation.
"The colony company reseryes
every other city lot and each other
land tract to sell to members and
non-members at fair and reasonable
prices only. Every member has an
interest in the whole colony and at
tbe end of five years a complete set
tlement and distribution of the col-
ony assets shall be made. No per
son can take more than four snares.
A share entitles him to one allot-
ment either land or city lots as he
may choose. No bad lands or lots
put in and no one gets a poor allot-
ment. Shares are put at $25 each.

Dear Sirs: I feel it my duty to
write to you and let yon know how
much good your medicine has done
for me. Twenty-three yeras ago I
was taken with some kind of stom
ach trouble and I tried everything I
heard of. They did me bnt little
good. Three years ago neuralgia set
in on me and I got so poor and weak
that I coald hardly walk couldn't
work any. My husband received a
book through the mail advertising
your medicine and he sent our little
boy to tbe drug store to get one of
your ten-cent bottles. I began to
use it. It is strange to say bnt it's
the truth the second dose I took
gave me lots of relief. I kept on
neing It till I nsed It nearly one year
and now I am nearly as strong as I
used to be and can do any kind of
work. I recommended it to all for
it seems to me it would cure anybody
I have gotten several to use Dr.
Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin and tbey
all say it has done tbem so much
good. God bless Dr. Caldwell and
his medicine for doing me so much
good. Yours with respect
Mrs. Isabel! Wheeler.

Little DaShter'a Life.
I am the mother of eight children
and have bad a great deal of expe
rience with medicines. Last summer
my little daughter bad the dysentery
in its worst form We thought she
would die. I tried everything I
could think of but nothing seemed
to do her any good. I saw by an
advertisement in onr paper that
Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and
Dlarrboea Uemedy was nigbly rec
ommended and sent and got a bottle
at once. It proved to be one of tbe
very best medicines we ever had in
tbe bouse. It saved my little daugh-
ter's life. I am anxious for every
mother to know what an excellent
medicine it Is. Had I known it at
first it would have saved me a great
deal tf anxiety and my little daugh-
