Aa ELtc ioa Proposition.
Judge Bedford president of
the Lincoln dab has formulated
a novel proposition in connection
AH
with the approaching election
which he' intends to submit to J.
C. Thompsot president of the
Ardmore
Democratic dab. The
is to aid the ladies of the Benevo
lent society in their work.
He says that he will select twen
ty-flve members of the Lincoln
club who will contribute $1 or
$1.50 each to a fund the president
of the Democratic dab is to do
the same and in case Bryan is
elected the fund raised by the
twenty-five republicans will be
tamed over to the ladies of the
Benevolent society to be nsed by
them in giving a supper or some
other entertainment the proceeds
0f which are to go into
their
work
treasury for the benevolent
jn which they are engaged.
In case McKinley is re-elected
the fund raised by the democrats a
is to be used in the same manner
ani for tne same purpose.
If Judge Bradford's proposition
is accepted tbe work of the Be
nevolent society this winter will be
greatly aided no matter what
result of the election may be.

Hoyt's Comedy Co. in their
third performance last night were
seen in that charming little com

It proved to be the most sparkling.
entertaining little -satire on married
life ever seen here. There was a
continuous uproar of laughter from
rise to fall of the curtain. The
one remarkable thing about the
play is that it is so natural so sim-
ple and lifelike. It tells the story
or a young couple wno are very
much married" and spend their
days in jealousies and bickerings
The father-in law and mother-in-
law of this worthy couple in order
to show them the errors of their
ways concluded to "scrap" and
show the young people how ludi
crous their conduct was. They get
into a real fight themselves and
the situations resulting therefrom
are excruciatingly funny.
Tonight A Texas Steer" will
be the play. This is Hoyt's mas
terpiece the play that has made
all America laugh. The fine
strength of the company will be
seen in this famous play; eighteen

Appeal Dismissed.
The court of - appeals sitting at
South McAlester has 'passed upon
two. cases of considerable interest
in Ardmore. . ' .
The first is the appeal of Bnb
Nolen. which was dismissed on
technical grounds without preju
dice to another appeal.
The other was the case of John
AlcNeUh vs. L. P. Adkins et al.
This is the locally famous North
Ardmore land litigation which has
created so much interest for a year
or more. The court of appeals
dismissed the case and this will
probably end the matter.
