S. K. Jackson a citizen of Arl-
niore in the Iiulinn Territory ban
lili tl an intereMUnn petition in the
seventeenth district court in which
lie asks for :-JoOO il.iniap'H against
the Houston and Texas tVntral rail-
road company for injuries caused by
tiie alleged negligence of their agents
which he claims has injured him
very Hcriounly.
He states that he was in the city
of San Antonio on the 13th of last
April and by mistake went to the
office of the Houston and Texas
Central railroad company supposing
he was at the office of the Missouri
Kansas and Texas railroad and that
the ticket agent by representing
that he would get through in good
time etc. etc. induced him to buy u
ticket over the defendant company's
railroad insteud of over the Katy.
After describing minutely that he
was in a delicate state of health and
just recovering from a serious ill-
ness which had caused him to go to
San Antonio for the purpose of re-
cuperating the plaintiff then goes on
to relate how he was side tracked in
the sleeper at Utarne on account of
a washout which had occurred there.
He gives a graphic description of his
alleged sufferings there being de-
tained at the place according to his
accoui.t for forty Weary hours dur-
ing which his suflerings were in-
tense on account of his feebie condition-
The sleeper he says was
bumped against by cars and once so
violently that .he was thrown from
his berth and hurt very badly. l!e
contracted a severe cold on account
of the proximity of a pond of stag
nant water and has not yet recover-
ed from the effects of that exposure.
He asked the agents again and
niain to be removed from the place
without obtaining any satisfaction
and when he was finally brought
away he had suffered so much from
the annoyances fatigue and expos-
ure and the nervous strain that he
claims it has done him irreparable
injury. Among other things he
states that he actually lost ten
pounds of flesh while waiting there
t'i be removed. He claims that the
ticket agent at San An'.oni.i eouhl
have known of the washout at
llearno by the exercise of ordinary
diligence and for this and the other
alleged liabilities of the company in
his judgment as stated above. - Fort

TISHOMINGO TIDINGS.
Tihomim; I. T. Aug. 21. -Special
Correspondence. There was a
very pleasant time at the hospitable
j home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rennie
today and enjoyed by quite a crowd
of bota old and young. It was a
; splendid dinner given in honor of
j their twin boys Cecil and Claud on
I their fourth birthday. Mr. Kennie
I had made ample provisions for all
and it might be truthfully said that
il double dinner. Two fine
; turkeys were laid before the young
( gentlemen on a large dish brought
! from Ireland by their great grand
i mother many years ago. The little
boys are so near alike that It is al-
most impossible to distinguish one
from the other. An amusinir thiuiz
i occurred. Judge V. II. Uourland's
I seat at the table was by the aide of
j one of the boya and after the dinner
was over he could not tell which one
was his partner for dinner.
Kverj hotly enjoyed themselves and
I left with the hope that they may
have the pleasure of enjoying them-
selves many more times in the fu-
ture with the young gentlemen and
their esteemed parents who never
do things by halves.
The court of claims for citizenship
I in the Chickasaw Nation decided
j that Mr. T. M. (iraham of Hail y I.
i T. is a citizen of the I'nited States
; having forfeited his right to Indian
j citizenship by marrying a white
I woman. Such a decision means a
great deal to some intermarried
citizens.

The Cotton Crop.
i Charles Durie yesterday brought
' in eight stalks of cotton selected
promiscuously from four fields. They
' show anything but absolute destruc
tion from the ooli worm. I hey are j
; pretty well laden with fruit and if
: they represent an average of the !
' crops from which they were taken
! the yield will be more than half of j
j what it could at best have been ex- i
(pec ted. Charley says all the talk'
about the utter destruction of the
j cotton crop is the veriest rot as
far as his observation has informed j
him. He leels confident the receipts :
in Ardmore for the season will not
fall short of JI.OOO bales. !

Tishominuo I..T. Aug. 2.'. One
of the witnessea before the court of
claims at this place the other day
was Neshoba Lokna or "Yellow
Volf"a he Is commonly railed. He
was born in Mississippi near the
Alabama line at m place railed
Huzzard Koost about is miles from
Tuskuuibia a little over 113 years
ago.
Yellow Wolf is a remarkable man
the number of years bear lightly on
him he is straight as an arrow
rides horseback wherever be goes
and generally rides very spirited
pony which be mounts in true In-
dian style from the right side with
a single leap from the ground.
Meeting him one would never be-
lieve that he was over seventy years
of age though there is only one per-
son living near here that knew him
when he was a boy and that is an
old negress who lives near I)oak-
ville in tlio Choctaw Nation sup-
osed to be 120 years of age.
We have men here who are not
spring chickens by any means their
ages ranging from ":i to so years
that have known this remarkable
man all of their lives and say that
he was a man grown when they were
children.
He came to this nation in lvT7
from Mississippi. He is what the
Indians rail an "Alic-cbe" or doc-
tor and ran find anything that is
hidden. They say of him that in bis
young das be was dissipitated and
it was impossible to hide whisky so
he could not find it.
The writer has known Yellow Wolf
since lsv and can see no difference
in him then and now. llix.
