luminous to be so brief. Its illus-
trations are particularly fine and well
selected. Its appended lists and ta-
bles are highly Interesting and in
structive especially that which gives
gist of our latest census. The com
bination of good type and paper of
fers a pleasing page. The mechani
cal work is good; the only error not
ed the nii8collection in the headingj
of automobile and aviation terms.
Tho dictionary proper is ample for
all ordinary use; and for such use la
more convenient than an unaV! l'ed
edition. Though having both at hand
I use the smaller more than the larg
er book. In short the Modern Eng-
lish dictionary is a splendid work ex
ceptionally so at its low selling price.

With the advantages our elimaf

that they are not going to even approi-
imnte their capacity in agricultural
production until eacn farmer raises
cattle hons. produce dairy products
poultry and eggs. Our section Is pre-
eminently a stock raising section.
There never has been a time in East
ern Oklahoma when an abundance of
green feed could not be raised. We
should also understand how vital It
is to plant at least a small acreage
each year in one of the great Insur-
ance crops -kaflrcorn or mflo maize.
This meeting will be the first step
in a systematic effort to better agri-
cultural conditions in eastern Okla-
homa. At the Eastern Oklahoma Confer-
ence there will be present represen-
tatives of the demonstration work of
the Federal Government who will tHl
of the-r methods. anT show the man-
ner in which they co-operate with
the individual farmer. Represent-
fives will also be present of the State
A. & M. College who stand evor resdy
to co-operate In any movement de-
signed to benelit the farmer. Th
reading farmer will be told where he
can obtain Government bulletins con-
taining scientific expositions of agri-
cultural methods.
The program of this meeting will in-
clude n number of prominent speakers
to discuss various lines of agricul-
ture and stock raising which will bi
of great interest and value to the bus-
iness men and bankers as well as the
farmers.
Farmers conspicuous for their suc-
cess will be present ami tell the meet-
ing of the results of their improved
methods and the manner in which
their superior results have been ob-
tained. The Committee in charge of this
meeting after careful consideration of
the benefits to be obtained from this
conference have decided that greater
progress can be made through county
organizations than by any other meth-
od hence one session of the meeting
will be devoted very largely to a pres-
entation of the value of such county
organizations and the manner in
