Shot at the Officer.
Yesterday morning Jim Patton
and Walter Scribner two young
men from near Lebanon rode into
Holder in truly bad man style.
They each had a Winchester and
were making a boisterous display
of the same when Deputy Chas.
Burns appeared on the scene and
took Scribner's gun away from
him.
Patton seeing this rode off a
short distance then coolly wheeled
his horse and took several shots at
the officer and rode away.- Dep-
uty Burns got a horse and went
after Patton whom he found in a
ravine some four or five miles out.
Scribner was released by the offi
cer and Patton brought here and
placed in jail. Judge Bradford will
hear the case this afternoon.
