Smith Again Expelled.
Vinita I. T. Oct. 25 Three
weeks ago F. M. Smith a. larrer
broker and hay dealer was ex
pelled from the Indian Territory
for declining to pay export royalty
on hay shipped which is exacted
by the Cherokee law. The Curtis
act abolished Indian jurisdiction
but contained a clause to the effect
that all Indian revenues were to be
collected by United States officers.
Smith declined to pay and was ex-
pelled under the clause in the
$-fJnited States statute which per
mits this action when the secretary
of the interior deems the presence
of any person upon an Indian res-
ervation objectionable.
Smith returned and proceedings
were promptly begun for the col-
lection of the $1000 penalty. The
jury disagreed. Yesterday the or
iginal proceedings were quashed
in the federal court by the district
attorney on an understanding with
the interior department officials
and last night Smith was rearrest-
ed by an Indian policeman and
taken across the line to Chetopa.
Kan. It is not believed he will
again venture back. The govern-
ment is determined the hay ship-
pers coal men merchants and cat-
tlemen shall pay the revenue pro-
vided by the Indian statutes.

robs childbirth of its pain and danger.
Over 250000 grateful women have written
of the wonderful help of the " Favorite Pre-

Henson of Coalton Boyd Co. Ky. writes :
" In October 1889 I snvr birth to a baby and
the treatment I received at the hands of the mid-
wife left me with prolapsus. I had no health to
speak of for three vears. I had another baby
which was the third child. Mv health began to
fail and I then had three miscarriages and found
myself (Completely worn out. 1 had so many
pains and aches my life was a burden to me
and also to all the familv. for I was nervous and
cross and I could not steep. Had four doctors.
They said I had liver. Inns; and uterine
trouble. I was in bed for months and when I
did get np. I was a sight to behold. I looked
like a corpse walking about. I commenced tak-
ing Dr. Pierce's Favorite Pwscriiou and in a
few weeks 1 became a well woman. Before I
began the use of Dr. Pierce's medicine I suf-
fered all a woman could suffer at mv monthly
periods but now I have no pain. "The dark
circles around my eves are gone and I feel better
in every way. My cheeks are red and my face is
white; before my face was as yellow as safiron."
