—The opinion of tile Patriot may
not be worth much in regard to crops
and stock for the coming season, but
we will give it for what it Is worth.
We believe that, the most protiuble
course for the Oklahoma farmer the
ensuing your Is to plant Ills unused
acres in corn and keep and secure all
the stock hogs and cat tle that he
can. The scarcity of food has so
diminished hogs that will be market-
able for the coming year and cattle
for the next three years that the
demand therefor must maintain a
high price for them, We believe
that it will lie a good corn year and
that high priced hogs will ho fatten-
ed on cheap corn. —Medford Patriot.
--Joseph Misak, accompanied hy
Louis Misak and family, went to
Manchester, Okla., Sunday, January
19,to visit Mr. Jno. Plsar and family,
returning Monday, January 27.
While there a hunting party was
organized for a trip down on the
Salt Fork. The party was com-
posed of Messrs. J no. Plsar, Joseph
and Louis Misak, Ilgnrv Mlshler,
Luke Sawyer, Chas Snmh and Pete
Peters. They had a jolly time but
did not bring any game home with
them--c!aiming the air on the salt
plains gave them such an appetite
that they could hardly wait to cook
before devouring It.—Blulf City
News.
—The case of Wm. Barber against
the Kansas City, Mexico & orient
Railway was disposed of in the
District court this week. The road
passes through two of Mr. Barber’s
farms, ooe of which is his old home
place. The condemning board
allowed #110.00 on one, and $225.00 on
the other. The jury in the case was
taken out to the land and reviewed
it, and brought in a verdict for $710.-
00. The award on the home place
was raised from $225 to $550.—

al Bank on the west, is reported this
week to T. B. Smith. It is said that

Mr. Smith is well known to the
buyers and business men of Anthony,
and should he go in business here
will liud a whole lot of friends
awaiting the opening of Lis doors to
trade with him.—Anthony Republi-
can.
—The man who lives in a town for
months or years and never lends a
nickel support to the local home
paper, which works incessantly for
the upbuilding of the town and the
benefit of all who own property of
any description therein, should be
the last to kick because the paper
neglects to mention him personally
at each trivial opportunity. People
who ignore the Journal certainly
ought expect tlies paper to ignore
them.
