the witnesses at the trial of Smith on
the charge of assault with murderous
intent seemed to show that Peska
was in the wrong, at least Smith was
acquitted. Aefar as we personally I
know them, both an straight-for-
ward honorable maa aad we deplora
the occurrence that has brought on |
this trouble. It is only another
objact lesson of the absurdity of an
attempt to settle a trifling dispute ]
by a resort to brute force.
