Policemen have confiscated the guns,
I dogs and ammunition of several hunt-
ing parties in the Creek nation within
the past few days because of the failure
of the hunters to get permits from the
Indian agent here. The federal laws
regulating hunting upon Indian reser-

| dian Territory, aud Agent Shoenfelt
frequently has given notice that the
penalties provided by these laws would
be indicted unless the requirements are
strictly complied with.
A party consisting of two or three
men and a woman are under arrest and
held for extradition to Missouri for
fraud perpetrated at Lanagan, Mo.,
against a fire insurance company. The
woman, a Miss Anna Britt, seems to
carry the brains of the party. She had
conducted stores at various points in
Kansas and Oklahoma with short stays
