by A. T. Traweek is being rapid-
ly pushed to completiqn. When
finished it will be one among the
best—if not the best—in the coun-
ty. Mr. Traweek views with in-
terest the promising future of Le-
ger, and has ‘.‘come early to avoid
the rush.’’
On a business trip to Mangum
last week, the Plaindealer man
embraced the opportunity to view
the railroad grade north of here,
and found mo9t of the grade fin-
ished. Men and teams were at
work thereon, and it is beginning
to look quite “railroady.”

grip of Mangum, was doing busi-
ness with our grocery merchants
Friday last.
On last Sunday afternoon the
dwelling house of E. R. Boyd,
living about fifteen miles north-
west of here, caught fire from a

“Uncle Buck” Russell, the
popular hotel man on the south-
west corner of the square, has
had his hotel painted, which adds
greatly to its appearance.
J. R. McMahan has received
his cold drink fixtures, and is now
prepared to serve the public with
all kinds of flavors. Try him.
The infant child of Mr. and
Mrs. R. L. Brewer died last Sat-
urday morning, and was interred
in the Altus cemetery’ Saturday
evening. The Plaindealer ten-
ders its deepest sympathy.
In the case of T. V. Turner,
plaintiff in error, vs. the Territory’
of Oklahoma, defendant in error,
the ca3e was affirmed. Chief Jus-
tice Burford turned down the sev-
en assignments of error offered
by Mr. Turner's counsel.
