Caught Them Alive
Ed JoneH and Edwin Addison
tracked a coyote to her den re-
cently and. aftej shooting and
wounding her, took eight young
ones from the lair in true emula-
tion of Teddy the Terror.
If coyotes multiply like that
we will never get rid of them
until a bounty is offered for their
acalpa. These, boys should have
been rewarded for destroying this
bunch.
•We again urge our farmers not
4o give iaaies .lor oil or gas on
their farms, unless the party bids
himself to begin development
within six months and prosecute
the work to a finish. A few years
ago, some of our farmers gave
one Stephens a five year lease on
their lands, and nothing has been
done. His object was to tie the
lands np and sell at a bonus. Don’t
be caught again.—Altos Hews.
Messrs. Allan and Holshousers
have engagad in the grain buai-
aess here and are prepared to
handle any kind of grain in any
quantities and to pay the highert
market prioe. Ton will make no
mistake by seeing .them before
selling your grain.
Basket Dinner.
Friday, May 11th, there will
be an open session of the Gunners
Union at the Tripp rchool house
six miles west of town, C. C.
Worall will be there to address
the people. That being the closing
exercises of the school.
A basket dinner will be given
and all are invited to come and
have a general good time.
The City Election.

it is the officers, now the
election is over, are as much our
officers as though they had all
beeu on the democrat ticket. This
paper is ready at all times to aid

name of Snyder, no matter by
what party they were elected.
It is hoped that the new officers

There ar* some who just can
not give up until they give down,
satisfactory to either party, good
men were elected and nq sores
were made. The democrats
elected all the trustees, % E.
Griffin in the first district and
*P. H. Fullingim in the second
and Dr. J. B. Bryce in the third.
This, with the Clerk, George
Hughes, gives the democrats the
law making power in the town
while the republicans with Joe
Morris as marshal and K. G.
Brown as Justice of the Peace, will
have the enforcement of the laws
to look sfter.
The democrats elected S. W.
Parsons assessor and the republi-
cans elected John Cormaok town
treasurer, making five officers for
the democrat* and three for the
republicans.
The Democrat would have been
better aatisfied had the entire
with an indebtedness of 9250 and
have paid all outstanding warrants
and graded the streets, built side-
walks and are leaving a balance
of 9250 in the treasury.
Snyder is just now where real
improvement can commence and
the new officers hsve an oppor-
tunity to do much for the town.
As it is out of debt, with some
cash in the treasury and the peo-
ple willing and anxious to pay the
expenae of any public improve-
ment, the trustees may now go to
work and push Snyder to the
place in which she belongs, THE
PEOPLE RULE, WATCH
SNYDER GROW.
If Secretary Shaw is > wist he
now sees hia finish as a Presi-
dential possibility.
Upset in Lake.
Last Friday forenoon while at-
tempting to drive through John-
ston ’s Lake the United States
Reclamation Service hoys in
some manner upset their wagon.
None of their instruments were
damaged but the dinner for the
party which they had in the
wagon was lost. One of the boys
had a gun along and it was
necessary to dive to get it from
the bottom of the lake.
The party was eoippoaed of
F. L, Humphrey, Earnest Mosa
and Bill Cline. None of them
were in any way hart except in
their good humor which was
slightly dampened.
