mlttee decided to hold another meet-
ing on August 29 at El Reno, to which
all counties along the line are re-
quested to send large delegations.
Plans will be adopted at the El Reno
meeting for the organization of the |
several counties.
The plan, so far as formed, provides
for the building of a dirt road of
uniform grade from Caldwell, Kansas,
to Ryan, Oklahoma. Following the
old Chisholm trail from the point
where it enters Oklahoma from Kan-
sas to the point where it crosses the
state line into Texas. The trail al-
most parallels the Rock Island rail-
road. In crossing Grant county it
runs through Pond Creek just west of
the Rock Island track.
Pond Creek was represented at the
meeting by Messers Asher, Perren,
Carwalho, Thomas, McCarter, Lee,
Goldsmith. Hite, Delzell, Stalker,’
