We do not believe that a farmer who knows anything
about farm machinery could be induced to buy any separator
other than a De Laval after he had seen the latest improved
De Laval machine and had given it a trial.
It is a fact that 99% of all separator buyers who do
SEE and TRY a DE LAVAL machine before buying,
purchase the De Laval and will have no other. The
who do not buy the De Laval are those who allow them-
selves to be influenced by some other consideration besides
real genuine separator merit.
If you are thinking about buying*
cream separator we will consider it a
favor if you will permit us to set up
a De Laval for you on your own
place and have you give it a fair
tried.
You will be under no obligation
to buy the machine if it does not
make good all our claims, and should
you decide to keep it and cannot con-
veniently pay cash, you may do so on
such easy terms that it will actually save its cost while
you are paying for it.

The following poetical effusion is
from the pen of Prof. Jay Lewis,
who is wielding the proverbial
“birchen rod” over near Lyle. We
think this deserves a place among
Oklahoma classics, hence reprint
it.
OKLAHOMA.
Her sons, they have battled for
justice as well
The poor and the friendless from
over the ocean,
Come gladly to ask protection
of thee
And fast beat their hearts with
joyful emotion,
To behold the dear land and feel
they are free.
Oklahoma, long may thy people
adore thee,
And defend the dear land that
gave them a home;
Yet still be the ages of glory be-
fore tl\ee,
When graft-ridden states are
sinking in gloom.
The Jet Visitor says, that Howard
Strasbaugh has resigned as editor
of the Socialists paper at Carmen
and has accepted a job in the gov-
ernment postal department. The
Journal thinks this a wise move on
his part as the government does
not pay its employees m promises
alone.

There's a land where something is
doing,
And a fairer land never was seen;
Where rivers in beauty, in grand-
deur flowing.
Through wide rolling prairies
and valley serene.
The tall waving woods to the
winds gentle swaying,
And shading the streams that
beneath them doth flow
Bend meekly their branches fami-
liary playing.
With the waves of the waters
that murmur below.
On prairies afar is the home of
the farmer.
Where arches of heaven seem
touching the plain
Probably we. had the muddiest
roads the tirst half of this week that
we have had siuce 19G9. About the
only autos we have seen on the streets
are Fords and occasionally a little
Saxon. Either the big cars do not
run well when the roads are slick, or
their owners don’t want to get them
all mussed up and have to spend a
half day washing them. It seems to
us that those who purchased Fords get
them for utility aud not for pleasure
We saw a Ford come iu from Anthony
last Monday when it was raining the
hardest and it was loaded with tive
men aud they had lost one of their
mud chains. It was sure splashiDg
some mud around.
Mingle & Turuei will give a picture
show at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon,
also at night. Their next show will
come Tuesday night, of nex’ week.
