Your dollar’s opportunity is now, today I Sfet it to work

so it will perform its part in the World of affairs.
Every man’s money should be making use of this
opportunity. Farmers, for instance, cannot only feed

f farms and the business-like handling of their incomes
J, they can help to develop the world.

she could not buy clothes as cheap
as she could in Elk City stores and

HOCK’S BARBER SHOP CHANGES
HANDS
Another one of our land marks
is passing. W. O. Hock, who has
owned a barber shop in Elk City for
the past ten years, sold his shop this
week to N. E. McClain of Sayre.
Mr. Hock has made a host of
friends during his years of business
life. He has always been associated
with every movement for the bet-
termen: of the town, and ha« es-
pecially been active in boosting the
Beckham County Fair. And while
we regret to lose him as a business
man, we have the hope that he and
his wife may still be witi us, for
they have the “back to the farm”
fever. And of course we all know
there is no better farming country
than right here around Elk City.
N. E .McClain is a son of the late
Chas. McClain of Berlin, and hss
been engaged in the barber trade
nearly all his life, formerly in
Cheyenne and for the past few years
in Savre. He comes well recom-
mended.
One of the best presents you can
send a friend or relative who
once lived here is the News-Demo-
crat. A present of this kind is one
that will cause your relative or
friend to think of you once a week
for fifty two weeks. It is a pres-
ent that will last a year and not
one that will be forgotten as soon as
Christmas is a thing ot the past.

Hospital Cleanliness
- for your Clothing
There was a time when hospitals looked mostly
to antiseptics—strong, biting, corrosive disinfec-
tants, for protection from contagion.
But they’re wiser today—they’ve learned of
the aseptic value of honest soap and water,
liberally used.
And this health - preserving cleanness is a
modem laundry product—it’s the protection we
offer for your family fabrics.
In addition, we relieve you of the stress and
strain of wash-day; of the steam and muss and
bother of it—we give you more leisure—more
time to do with as you please.
And you’ll find that clothes washed and ironed
our scientific, sanitary way will look better and
last longer.
- Why not bundle up your family washing
today and phone for our driver? He will be
glad to call.
