This community is six mi’es north oast of
Snyder. Independent, for everybody is f< r
himself. No time to help others only in a
neighborly wav. We ha* e for an aggregation,
lawyers, doctors, preachers and tiddlers, all
kinds of farmers. Finn opening tor a distiller,
not one iu the neighborhood.
A Sunday school has been running all
summer.
Mr. Ferrell has cotton on Dry Otter thut
will put cotton in the shade on Red river.
H. O. Hays has coru fourteen feet high,
niue feet to the flrst ear. A sample was sent
to Kansas and they could not duplicate It on
I\!i*v river, and this flue corn is on high prairie
land. His oats turned out 72 bushels to the
acre.
Mr. Wagner has cotton on high land wi’h 40
bolls aud 20 blooms, which will mature before
frost. This cotton was planted the 4th cf
June last.
The splendid rains have put the ground in
good shape for wheat seeding this fall. This
week two and one-bulf inches of precipitation
has put a smile on the farmers faces that wJU
m t go off.
Miss Irene Brandom. who has been visiting
her grandmother near Oklahoma City this
summer, has returned and her cousin. Mr
Winebrimcy. right from the Phtlipine Islands
Is visiting her and his aunt. He belongs to the
constabulary in the Islands and is on a furlough
He tells of many bairbreudta escapes witn the
natives.
Arthur Chr.se ha# completed a neat resi-
