I want to call attention to the
fact that, of the balance shown
as on band, the sum of y9,491.C7
is held subject to the order of
parties to whom it has been al-

which places the actual amount
of money not already allowed or
expended at $11,533.29.
Some bills for general expense
j maintance of hospital, &c., have
not yet been allowed by the Re-
lief Committee and paid. As
soon as absent members of the
Relief Committee return to town,
those matters will be taken up
and a balance struck and report-
ed to the Distribution Committee,
who will then make further al-
lowance on applications already
filed.
I hold checks of the secretary
for all the moneys paid out and
he holds orders and authoriza-
tions qf committee for ajl ghec^a
he has drawn. The checks in my
office and the orders in his office
are open for inspection by any
one who may want to examine
them. We invite the fullest in-
