school was honored by the pres-
ence of Mrs. Geer, superintend-
ent of Otter creek Sunday school
and her eon, W. E. Geer, Jr. We
hope they were favorably im-
pressed and that they will come
often.
The singing at the home of E.
Goodwin last Sunday uight waa
well attended. Three school
houses were represented.
The Frederick Free Press has
made its last struggle and stif-
fened in death. v\ ant of suffic-
ient support is given by the pub-
lishers as the cause of the sus-
pension. The boys have worked
hard to make the Free Press a
deserved

turkey dinner.

Mrs. Adams was unable to be

owing to ill health. Mrs. Jenkins
was also on the sick list.
Mr. Hughes who intended to
start to the Chickasaw last Fri-
day was detained on account of
his wife being taken suddenly ill.

school house Saturday night and

The Christmas entertainment
was well attended, the house be-
ing packed to its upmost capacj* .

rendered, some parts deserve'
special mention i H. 8. Caesar's
Christmas address was very fine,

Mrs. Caesar's rending ‘Inasmuch*
was very good, and Mrs. Good-
win in her recitation told us how
the darkies celebrate Christmas
in the south. Her rendition was
perfect. The little folks did fine.
The tree wus loaded with presents
which were distributed where
they belonged and everybody
went home feeling happy.
On last Sunday afternoon the
Sunday School elected the follow-
ing officers for the ensuing year:
Supt. Mrs. Geer; asst. supt. Mr.
Sam Davis; sec. Mrs. Caesar;
treasurer, Miss Lee Bryan; or-
ganist, Mrs. Wiginton; chorister,
H. 8. Caesar. The following
were elected teachers: Mrs.
Wiginton, Mr. Wiginton, Will
Geer, Mrs. Coffelt.
Everybody is cordially invited
to attend our school. The inter-
est is good and we enter upen our
second year's work much en-
couraged.

the Pleasant Valley school house
Wednesday evening, Dec. 30.
Willard Johnson returned home
from Chickasha to take Christ-
mas at home.
Bunyan Griffin and Miss Mamie
Gassin were made one last week.
There is to be a literary society
organized at the new school house
next Thursday evening.
The Pleasant Valley Sunday
School gave a treat Sunday after-
noon.
There was a nice crowd at the
Christmas tree at the new school
house and everyone had an en-
joyable time.
The Oklahoma State Poultry
Association holds its ninth annual
show at Hennessey January 11th
to 16th inclusive. A good dis-
play of the feathered creation is
expected.
Editor Price, of the Harrison
Gazette, spent Monday in Sny-
der. Mr. Price was greatly
pleased with Snyder and express-
ed surprise at the rapid advance-
ment the town has made since he
saw it, less than a year ago. As
Mr. Price and the editor of the
Signal-Star have a number of
mutual acquain tain ces and
friends, the time he spent at this
office was fully enjoyed by the
editor.
