High School Team Organises.
The high school boys met at
the Watonga Herald office Tues-
day night and organized a foot
ball team. C. G. Nesbitt was
elected manager and C. K. Mal-
comb captain of the team. We
hope to be bard at work at prac-
tice within the next ten days as a
ball and suits will be ordered at
once.
Watonga baa had but little m
the way of sports this summer
and the people have not been
called on to assist in backing any
kind of sport. We sincerely hope
fular and the togrm people in gen
erg! Will heartily support the foot
ball team. Ojve the boys some
encouragements show them your
heart's right so they will feel
more like getting out and mater-
ializing a w inning team and show
the high schools of the territory
that we are alive here in Waton
gg(
There will probably be a heav
ier team organized within a week
to represent the town and this
will give the two teams good
practice working together.
The colors clioseu by the team
were orange and black.

Monday night about 10:00 fire
broke out in Will McBride’s gro-
cery and restaurant onNoble ave-
nue. The fire boys responded
quickly to the alarm and in a re-
markably short time two streams
of water were turned on the blaze
and ten minutes afterward the
ire was under oontrol. Although
the building was considerably
damaged on the inside, and the
stock of groceries was mostly
ruined, no material damage was
done to other buildings. Mr.
McBride carried no insurance.
The boys arc to be highly com-
plimented on the work they did
with the hose.
