ston Tuesday morning in re
sponse to a telegram telling of
the serious illness of Mrs, J W
Peek, and remained until after
the death of Mrs. Peek.
The Twenty fifth Annual Con-
ventiou of the Oklahoma 8tate
Sunday School Association will
be held in Muskogee, March 26,
27, 28, 1918 This will be the
“Silver Jubilee” and promises
to be the best meeting ever held
by the Association.
Hon. E M Batnford, after a
month’s visit to his daughter,
Mrs P. D Erwin, returned to
his home at Guthrie, Tuesday
Mr. Bamford is a retired at
torney, a splendid gentleman,
and made many friends during
his mouth sojourn among us
Mrs. Lucinda E. Bollwine,
formerly of Wellston, now of
Edtnond, came in Tuesday and
remained over until Wednesday,
on a business visit. Mrs Boll
wine is the widow of the late,
lamented Bill Bollwine, a for-
mer dispenser of liquid refresh
ment in Wellston, pefore the
bone dry law went into effedt.

school house, on Friday night.
March, 1, was one of the mo9t
successful affair of the kind
ever held in this section The
sale of pies and cakes netted
the neat sum of $194. The
crowning event of the evening
was the contest to decide the
most popular young lady pres-
ent. The victory was awarded
to Miss. Nevia Spenfce, and
$64.30 was realized in the con-
test. The eocial was attended
by six well filled auto loads
from Wellston.
