Charles Reuter Murdered. rihle tragedy:
rr. ... Beit resolved by the assemb-
lin'people of Bixby and vicin j members of the bar afore
ity were shocked Sunday, to
hear that Attorney Ghas ,T. Ren
ter, of Tulsa, had been murder-
ed Sunday morning about I
o’clock.
Mr. Reuter made frequent
professional visits here, and was
well acquainted with Bixby peo-
ple.
Officers have been on the alert
trying to locate the murderer,
but up te lliis time they have not
been successful in finding a chut.
Guy 1). McKinzie and Hud Hel-
lew, of Tulsa, were arrested,
charged with the crime, but it is
said that each will be able to
prove his whereabouts at the
time the crime was committed.
Two theories have been ad
\kinced—one that the crime was
committed in a spirit of malice
and the other that of robbery.
The fact that $400 worth of dia-
monds and about $150 in money
are missing furnishes a suspic
ion that robbery was the motive,
yet it is thought by some that
the robbery was committed to
cover and throw aside all suspic-
ion of malice.
