C. L. DeSmith’s team ran away
yesterday morning and Mr. De-

which resulted in breaking his leg

J. A. Meiuecke, a member of the
Stroud school board, has received
the two neat copies of the work
done by the children in the Stroud
public schools for the Educational
Exhibit of the World’s Fair at St.
Louis. The copies are in book form
with heavy covers and will be plac-
ed in the school library. Stroud
received second prize in the Oklaho-
ma Educational exhibit, Chandler
receiving the first.
Ihe graduating class was delight-
fully entertained last Friday night
by Prof, aud Mrs. J. P. Freshour
at their home on West Fifth st.
The reception room aud library
were beautifully decorated in ferns
and red and white cut flowers.
Chairs and tabl- s were placed on
the well-lighted lawn where the
guests sang choruses and partici-
pated in various kinds of games.
The Misses Shoffner rendered a num-
ber of beautiful vocal and piano so-
los and duets throughout the even-
ing Miss Letha Virnberly, a mem-
ber of the class, gave a number of
readings in her usual charming-
way.
Refreshments of ice cream rake,
banauas, lemonade and candies were
served by Messrs. Freshour and Mc-
Fadden.
