awaiting the action of the grand
jury. Judge Jarrett fixed $800
as the amount of ball which might
be given. Amos Seaton's watch
and Earl Heath's pistol were
found upon Burns, who admits
that he is one of the robbers.
Accompanied by Sheriff High-
man, Burns went a qurrter of a
mile north of town today, and re-
covered Mr. Seaton’s pocketbook
which was cast away the night of
the hold-up. It contained no
money, but several valuable
papers. The Stroud State Bank
has offered $100 for the appre-
hension and conviction of each of
the men and the Fidelity and
Casualty Company of New York
has offered an additional reward
of $50. A petition asking the gov-
ernor to offer on the part of the
territory an additional $100 for
each robber will be mailed to-
morrow.
M. A. Shipley, representing
the Fidelity & Casualty Co., is in
town and has adjusted the bank’s
claim under it’s policy, with per-
fect satisfaction. Mr. Shipley,
told the Star man that it would;
have been impossible for the rob-
bers to have reached the money
chest of the safe without having
alarmed the whole town, but that
since the outer doors of the safe
were utterly demolished that the
bank will order a new safe, two
sizes larger than the old one. It
will have a double time-lock.
