SBEOAL!
We have conceived a plan to save the pat-
ron* of Curtis the price of an average farm
each year. That will mean to free the commun-
ity of debt in a very few years if they will
aid us in our plan. This ad next weok will
explain and prove in figures how it can be
done.

It look “to a man up a tree” as
though the Santa Fe was trying
to make the Wichita Falls & North-
western iejl out to it. In the last
two weeks it has threatened to
parallel much of the latter’s road
by building the Alston branch and
running cars over the Santa Fe
cracks to Gerlach switch and from
there build a line northwest to
reach the Colorado coal Aelds.
The scheme may work, but the
Santa Fe cannot much longer re-
tard the development of north-
west Oklahoma. It baa been able
to keep the Rock Island and other
railroads out of this territory for
years, but it looks as though the
hand writing on the wall is show-
ing very plainly. If it should suc-
ceed with the W. F. & N. W„ it
will soon, have the M. 0. & G. to
deal with, for that road is almost
sure to want to. build thru Wood-

caved in and in trying to pull the

apart, leaving the auger 45 feet

A good deal of complaint has
been heard over the county lately
because the county superinten
.dent graded the papers of the
students so closely that many per-
sons who-expected to teach school
this winter will not get certiA
cates.
We have it by wireless that the
overworked and underfed em-
ployes of the county bring their
sewing to the court house and
not make the taxes any greater.
The same amount of money can
be raised on a lower rate. This
will have the effect of encourag-
ing capital to come here for in-
vestment.—Woodward Bulletin.
