The State Fair
A Success
Kvery body know* Oklahoma
City, either by reputation. or
having once vuiicd the city.
We can't begin lodeacribv this
little city with mile# of pavtd
street* ami bluck* of beautiful
bu*ine*« structure* and hand
aoroe residence*.
You have noticed upon making
a visit to a city the kind of "air"
that comes ovur you. (a feeling
sublime, aix* a fcclinir redicu
lous. to the other fellow),
ining yourself the owner of the
railroad upon which you travel,
or half-owner of most the brick
blocks, street cars and national
banks in the citv which is your
destination? In other words,
your head is full of "air castles"
-hot air, if you please. We
didn't exactly have this kind of
a feeling when we boarded the
train at Eldorado Friday morn-
ing. but the symptoms bordered
very close to that awful illusion.
The Frisco system has very
nice and comfortable service.
You leave Eldorado at 7:45 a. m..
reach Oklahoma City, if you have
good luck, 3:45 p. m., loaded down
with a supply of hot tomales,
"cracker-jack," and fruit There
is no stop for eating "a-gwine,"
but "a-comin' " you have fifteen
minutes at Snyder to fill up on
the delicacies of a "China" shop.
We suppose this is "fare enough"
since the 2-oeut fare has gone
into effect.
There are lots of pretty ladies
in Oklahoma City, for we saw
them at the fair, 4wt to add in-
sult to injury, beauty must have
ran out when it came time to
work on the male sex-well—
they were ugly, despite the fact
C. G. Jones and Roy Stafford
were conspicuous on the grounds.
Expressions from the large
number of people that attended
the fair it was a success in point
of attendance, and expressions
from the management, it was a
success financially.
The agricultural building con-
tained as fine farm exhibits as
will be seen at any state fair.
The disappointment to us in this
department was Jackson county
not represented. ' Our county
had exhibits that would have
put all others in the shade, but
strangers didn't know there was
a Jackson County. Oklahoma

It wouldn't do fur ua to tell all

a chance to say by our vote
where the capital should be to*
