Heavy Rain And Wind
Whether the primaries had
anything to do with it, we don't
know, but we do know the wind
blew and the rain fell in torrents
most all of Saturday night. The
wind blew so hard that many
took refuge in caves. The rain
did some damage to cotton. Salt
Fork was nearly out its banks.
Cyclones seem to have struck

a consideration of $75 deposited in a local bank to defray

lahoma. $75 will be charged and will include all expense
and in case homeseekers should not file, $35 will be re-
funded at Clayton. Parties should look into this matter
at once as the filing will close August 1, 1907. Also the

a promoter of your town by build- country. It is a beautiful country
ing a nice home for your family, j plenty of wood and good water.
Let us help you. J. H. Austin, i The streams are full of trout and
other fish, however the land is
poor, this is not a farming coun-
try, nothing to compare with
grand old Greer. Forty acres of
good Greer countv land will make
a man a good living, but it takes
about ten times as much land
here. Horses, cattle, hogs, sheep
and goats are the money crops in
Llano county. In the course of
time this country will be a min-
ing center. Various kinds of ore
including gold are found in the
mountains here.
Granite, red and grey, are
shipped from here to all parts of
the United States.
Consumptives come here from
most everywhere to get the bene-
fit of this mild climate.
I have traveled considerable
since I left Greer but nowhere,
yet have I found any place that
equals it Wages are lower here i
and a living higher than in Okla.
If you are doing well, stay
where you are. You cannot im-
agine how homesick I get at
times. You are as near heaven
in Greer as a man can handy get
on earth. Three cheers tor
grand old Greer and the Courier.
